Not for vegeterians!

A favourite place for me to eat in Clapham is Bodean's. It's a BBQ joint. As you enter your are hit by the smell of smoky meat. It seems like everything gets the BBQ treatment and that is ok with me. Bodean's offers good value for money but for me what is disappointing, at times is the lack of consistency with the food and the service. I have had great service but then the food has been a small portion and the meat very dry. Then on another visit the service was inattentive but the food was melt in the mouth. So when visiting you never know what it is going to be like. If it was possible to choose I would take better food than the service but why can we not have both?

What a quirky house!

This building in the next street to us, has always fascinated me. At one time it was a Coroners Court built in 1901. It is now a six bedroomed house for sale at just under £3 million pounds. I would buy it.

The London School of Economics has online Charles Booth's groundbreaking "Poverty Maps" of London from 1886 to 1903 they used survey data to visually represent the quality of life for Londoners across a city that was characterised by enormous economic disparity. The LSE maintains an archive of the maps, zoomable and overlaid with the contemporary London map. The maps are colored from black ("Lowest class. Vicious, semi-criminal.") to yellow ("Upper-middle and Upper classes. Wealthy.") Link and if you follow this link you will see our street "Brayburne Avenue in the middle with pink shading representing : Fairly comfortable. Good ordinary earnings. Today I think the street would be pink and red : Middle class. Well-to-do .

This new blog venture will be a record of life living in and ministering in Clapham London SW4. Not to say they will be the only subjects. I probably will add the things of the interwebb that I find amusing.
