I do not mention food again in this post - is this some sort of breakthrough?

It was our Church District fun day today at Roothill farm. That is less than an hour's drive if you know the way. I set off forgetting I didn't really know where I was going so we were an hour late. Anyway it was a dream to be able to let the boys walk where they wanted and not having to keep a constant eye on them as we do in London. I lay on a large trampoline and just looked up at an uninterrupted view of a blue sky then I walked on what seemed to be the most vivid green grass and it all felt fantastic like experiencing something great for the first time.

Tomorrow it’s to be 27c not great for preaching. But it may just be hot enough for our folks not to have the heating in Church on.

Clapham Common Collision

I was driving home yesterday afternoon when my route was obstructed by an accident. A motorcyclist was been administered medical aid as he lay on the road. I had to make the decision as to take an alternative route or drive around him. Two other cars had driven around so I did too. As I carefully negotiated my way, I thought to myself I could have taken the long way and afforded the man a bit of peace. I didn’t think much more about it until I read today that the man was killed by the ambulance as it was responding to a 999 call. So I have felt bad for forcing my way past, so near to him as he lay dying or in fact he may have died instantly.

I was moved enough to telephone our local Police station to ask them to pass on my sympathy to his family and ask if I could also leave my telephone number as a local clergy man. They said I couldn’t do that as they would be seen as endorsing me. So my mood was made the more gloomy.

Glad to be back

We have started to get ourselves organised into teams at Church. The hope is that as many people as possible can do "works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up". I have given that a lot of thought and attention to the detriment of this blog.

I will resume a normal service. My blogs have always been laid back and informal.  If you can’t keep up with the pace, I can recommend some great blogs about Church and Theology. 

The first is from Adrian Reynolds who is the Pastor of Yatley Baptist church. He regularly updates his blog with great insights on life which end with a scriptural application. I think I have met him only once even though we are in the same district of our Church Association.

Second Justin Buzzard author of Buzzard Blog is a Pastor of  Central Peninsula Church, Foster City, California. His blog is also well worth a read as his posts are just the right length to keep your attention while you (well while I) trawl blogs looking for something interesting. I do get envious though of the times he gets out and about in the great outdoors while we are in the concrete jungle.
