I am now on Holiday until 2nd August. This blog has suffered because I just haven't had the time for it. I hope to get back to it with details of our adventure to Holland and then Belgium.
I was in charge of picking up Caleb from school on Monday. I had hoped by taking Jacob and Micah with me it would mean Abigail could have some much needed time to herself, it wasn't to be. I was trying to keep an eye all 3 at once. I made the mistake of allowing Caleb to go to the other school playground by himself. He got onto the monkey bars but fell off them awkwardly and landed hard hitting his head and as it turns out breaking his left arm in two places. All the mothers rallied round us to help. I couldn't think straight but managed to focus enough to hear them all say to not take him to St. Thomas Caleb was very nervous because he had to go to the theatre to have his bones manipulated into the right place. The small op went ok and he seems to be recovering well. We picked them both up and they are exhausted. Abigail slept beside Caleb much to his relief but woke her up at 5.30am He must have his arm in a cast for 4 weeks and we are on holiday in 3 weeks time so sadly he will not be able to do any swimming at the seaside or centre parcs. I want to thank Lee and Sandy for baby sitting so I could get to the hospital. My mother for looking after the boys so I could take a funeral of a baby today and all friends and family who prayed for us. God is indeed good! Life is never dull. Here are some pictures while waiting to bring the patient home. They are from my phone hence the poor quality.
Tomorrow is an action packed day for me. First of all I am taking Caleb and Jacob to school. Straight after I need to take a bus to an appointment at St. Thomas Hospital (the number 77 bus takes a great route along the Thames, taking in views of the house of Commons, The London Eye and even Lambeth Palace!) I will need to move very quickly to officiate at a funeral. On return home I have to oraganise a copy to be made of a Wedding Certificate. The day will be rounded off with an Elders and their wives social at our house. In-between events I would like to make about 4 phone calls.
What will your day be like?
Bill Cosby wrote, "Now that my father is a grandfather he just can’t wait to give money to my kids. But when I was a kid and I asked him for 50 cents, he would tell me the story of his life. How he got up at 5 a.m. when he was 7-years-old and walked 23 miles to milk 90 cows. And the farmer for whom he worked had no bucket, so he had to squirt the milk into his little hand and then walk 8 miles to the nearest can. All for 5 cents. The result was...I never got my 50 cents.
"But now he tells my children every time he comes into the house, ’Well, let’s see how much money old Granddad has for his wonderful grandkids.’ And the minute they take money out of his hands I call them over to me and I snatch it away from them. BECAUSE THAT IS MY MONEY."
